This Night Heron Chick was seen on May 30th on a gray day--not much else to capture in bad light.
This is a terrible shot, but I'm fond of it.
When the chicks are born, it will be even more crowed!

on May 3, 2009Impressive gallery, Joyful J! :) I may visit there one of these days since Palo Alto Baylands rookery is dead this year but I do have a place nearby where the Egrets & Heron are already establishing their nest this year. By this wonderful gallery of yours, I'm assuming that you have recovered well from your surgery.
