At the second pond--taken while talking to Sharon--before the sun came up . . .
I also didn't know there were TWO Harriers . . .
Golden Eye
At the end of the second pond, as the sun rose . . .
Chomp, chomp!
Ok, not at the ponds. I left and stopped at Contempo to find the Mergansers. No luck, just the usual suspects.
Spotted them in the dark and retraced my steps to follow them to the start of Pond 2 . . .
Spotted this young red tail (I think) just sitting by the path at the very far corner of Pond 3.
Harriers always seem nearby when Coyotes are around.
Canvasback.
At the far corner just after the intersection with the path to Hamilton--spotted this Kestrel.
Two coyotes in the field, far apart. But I had fun watching them both hunt. Missed some great springing shots. :-(
I was watching the Harrier fly to a distant field and then spotted this Coyote. I didn't know he had a vole until I looked on my computer!
Cool Coot.
